Charles Wayne Powell age 81, passed away on Monday, September 22, 2014 at his residence. Mr. Powell was born January 13, 1933 in Limestone County to Charlie B. Powell and Flora Lucas Powell.
Graveside services for Mr. Powell are Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Roselawn Cemetery at 12:00 p.m. Visitation will be Thursday, September 25, 2014 from 10:00 until 11:45 a.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery with Donald Terry officiating.
He was a long time truck driver. He retired from the Limestone County Commission. He was a member of the Teamsters Union.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Ann Powell of Powell Road; daughters, Lisa Crockett and husband Michael of Harvest, Wanda Kay Powell of Athens and Sharon Marks and husband Larry of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Nicole Allen and husband Wes, Lauren McCormick, Shelby Marks and Lindsay Crockett; great-grandsons, Charles Allen and Zachary Allen; several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, Charlie B. and Flora Powell; brother, Harold Powell.
Pallbearers are Ricky James, Steve Powell, Danny Cole, Mike Fairley, Fred Cole, John Baugher and Mark Lucas. Honorary pallbearers are Powell Cole and Milton Powell.
