Charles W. Copeland, Jr. 52 of Paducah, KY passed away at 2:07 AM, Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah.
Charles was born on August 21, 1971 in Russellville, AL to Charles W. and Linda Mathheus Copeland. Charles worked 24 years as a Port Engineer for Ingram Barge, where he was loved and admired. His strong work ethic made it easy for him to serve as a mentor and trainer to many who worked with him. When not at work, he could be found helping his best friend Ronnie Slayden with “The Bandit” at Beacon Dragway. He had a big heart and big personality, and especially enjoyed healthy banter with those around him.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa Harris Copeland of Paducah; a daughter, Shelby (Travis) Odom of Murfreesboro, TN; a son, Jake Copeland of Paducah; his parents, Charles W. and Linda Mathheus Copeland of Russellville, AL; three sisters, Glenna Bagwell of Russellville, AL, Janet Copeland of Decatur, AL and Stephanie Yarbrough of Russellville, AL. He was “Like A Father” to, Bryce Hiett and Kennadie Hiett both of Paducah and loved his “grand dogs”, Hank and Porter.
A memorial service will be at 12:00 PM, Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Barry Pritchard officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
