CharlesCharles Taylor “Satch” Grisham, 76, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2015, at his residence.
Mr. Grisham was born on Oct. 8, 1938, and lived in Franklin and Colbert counties all of his life. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Russellville, and was dedicated to the Faith Mission Outreach. He was retired from Canteen Vending Company, Decatur, Alabama.
He coached Littleville Little League baseball, Tharptown Midget football, Alabama Breeze Men’s softball, women’s softball, Misfits, Blazers, Franklin Merchants and Bama Breeze, and Littleville Men’s Independent basketball. He also refereed basketball for many years.
The funeral service will be Saturday, Aug. 22, 2015, at 11 a.m., at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel, Russellville, with burial in Bethlehem Cemetery. Officiating will be Stanley Hargett, Joe Lenox and Dr. Wade Wallace.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, Aug. 21, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Pearl Grisham; brothers, Delano and John Grisham; and sisters, Elsie Davis, Eliza Fisher and Oneal Pennington.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jean Roden Grisham; daughters, Amanda Dawson and husband, Charlie, Amy Brasuell and husband, John, and Chanda Logan and husband, Anthony; grandchildren, Ameliah and Catie Dawson, Matthew, Christian and Tristian Brasuell, and Autumn, Cody, and Brody Logan; brother, Luther Grisham (Pauline); sisters, Helen Chaney, Lucy Davis (Chuck), Martha Malone and Linda Garrett (Jimmy); and special friend, MaKayla Franks.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Brasuell, Phillip Wilson, Nathaniel Little, Ronnie Franks, Chad Green, Jimmy Green, Shawn Hines Sr., Melvin Smith and Nicholas Hood.
Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren, Calvary Sunday school class, Men’s V, and Alabama Breeze Men’s softball team.
Pinkard Funeral Home will be directing.
