Charles Roberts  Charles Roberts passed away Sunday July 12, 2026, peacefully at home under the loving care of his wife of 57 years, Nell Roberts. Nell expresses her gratitude to Katie Schrimsher CNA and Leeanna Roden CNA, for their friendship and aid in caring for Charles.
He is survived by his brother, Hal L. Roberts and sister-in-law Susan Roberts of Royce City, Texas;
his daughter, K.D. Ignatin, in the hill country of Texas; granddaughter, Rachel Carlos of Bourne, Texas’
and four great grandchildren.
Charles is predeceased by his parents, Bert Hillard Roberts and Bonita Roberts of Dallas, Texas
and his sister, Patricia Roberts Halliday.
Charles was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in Danang and earning a Bronze Star and Army Commendation.
He had a master’s degree in psychology and taught in Texas public schools. Charles met the love of his life, Nell, while both were employed by Roger Snap Forms where his father, Bert, was a vice-president. He joined Nell in operating lucrative antique businesses, The Hiding Place in Forney Texas and The London Market on Lover’s Lane in Dallas Texas. They escorted several groups of antique enthusiasts to the United Kingdom on buying trips.
Wherever Charles travelled he met fellow Texans who longed to return. He proved Thomas Wolfe wrong: he will be going home again for interment in The National Military Cemetery in Dallas Texas.
