Charles Ray Tucker – Obituary

Charles Ray Tucker of Madison passed away on Dec. 25, 2016 surrounded by his family and friends. Charles was born on Oct. 1, 1955 in Hickory, North Carolina to Joe Wayne and Janett Tucker and moved with his family to Decatur in 1963. Charles attended Morgan County High School and graduated with honors in 1973.

Charles worked for Turner Medical, Inc. in Athens as Vice President of Operations for 30 years.

He is survived by his wife, Sarah Alice Tucker; daughter, Elizabeth Tucker; mother, Janette Tucker; two sisters, Regina Huffman (Larry) and Rhonda Brewer; five stepsons, Daniel Taylor, David Taylor (Lindsey), Dennis Taylor, Derek Taylor (Micky) and Mark Coble; three nieces, one nephew, and a host of family and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Joe Wayne Tucker and his son, Bobby Joe Tucker.

Charles enjoyed hiking, working in his garage and spending time with his family and friends. He had a true passion for the sport of racing, especially dirt track racing. He started dirt track racing at the age of 14 with support of his father, Joe Tucker.

The family will hold a private memorial service to be announced at a later date.
