Charles Ray Hagood – Obituary

Charles Ray Hagood, age 63, of Carbon Hill, passed away on Monday, May 6, 2019 at Princeton Baptist Medical Center.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday, May 9, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be Thursday, May 9, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. in the Collins-Burke Chapel, with burial at Carbon Hill Memorial Gardens.  Greg Tinker and Steve Odom will officiate.

Ray worked in law enforcement for 31 years at the Carbon Hill Police Department, Winfield Police Department and he retired from the Walker County Sheriff’s Department in 2006, working K-9 narcotics with K-9’s Sonja and Kai.

He was preceded in death by his Parents-Charles and Betty Hagood of Carbon Hill; Father-in-law-Bill Madison of Saragossa; K-9 officers-Sonja and Kai.

He is survived by his Loving wife of 20 years-Cindy Hagood; Two loving sons-Landon and Cameron of Carbon Hill; Two sisters-Melissa Sykes (Charles) of Carbon Hill and Kimberly Valentine of Winfield; a Host of loving nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews; loving Mother-in-law and Caregiver-Tommie Madison; Host of family and friends.

Our family is truly blessed to have Ray as our strength and head of our family.  He will be missed.
