Charles R. Smith, 88, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2025 at North Alabama Medical Center. He was born in Indiana to Howard and Bertha Smith. He worked as a security guard for many years.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 1, 12-2 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL. A private graveside service will be held at Red Bay City Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by two children, Darcie Hutcheson (Richard) and Russell Smith; grandchildren, Misty Smith, Katy Carroll, Travis Smith, Leighla Smith, Nathaniel Smith and Micah Smith; great-grandchildren, Everleigh and Liam and one brother, David Smith.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty Smith; a grandson, Ryan Smith and daughter-in-law, Tamika Smith.
