Charles Milton “Bunkum” Lesley – Obituary

Charles Milton “Bunkum” Lesley, 81, died Sunday, April 19, 2015, at the North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice Unit. He was born December 16, 1933, to James “Pete” and Stella Mae Loden Lesley. He was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church and enjoyed helping all people, including strangers, in any way. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He loved his work in the dozer and logging business and was a natural comedian.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday, April 20, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. Rickey Lesley officiating. Burial will be in the Walton Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Gloria Lesley; one son, Jeffrey Lesley of Mooreville; three daughters, Melinda Senter (Jeff) of Mooreville, Kim Burgess of Jasper, AL, and Lori Hurley (Dewayne) of Nettleton; two step-sons, Leslie Bryant and Delane Bryant, both of Tupelo; one brother, Gerald Lesley of Dorsey; one sister, Sarah Christian of Fulton; two special grandchildren, Ferrin and Meliah Senter; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.

Pallbearers will be Don Loden, James McCollum, Bill Clements, Josh Jones, Rickey Lesley, and Jeff Senter. Jimmy Hale will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Monday, April 20, at the funeral home.
