Charles Levoyd Morring, 80, Athens, died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, in Huntsville Hospital. Visitation will be 10 to noon Monday at Spry Funeral Home, Athens. The graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Pleas Mount Cemetery, Gurley, Ala., with the Rev. Kevin Johnson officiating.
He was born June 7, 1932, in Gurley, Ala. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a retired electronic technician. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nolen C. Morring and Katie L. Morring.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Raye Morring, Athens; son, Charles L. Morring Jr. and wife, Patricia, Florence,; stepson, Luke Fair, Gadsden; sisters, Kathryn Barnett and husband, Jonny, Gurley, and Ann Jaggers and husband, Howard, Sheffield; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bob and Peggy Hughey, Lascassas, Tenn.; and six nieces.
