Charles Lawrence Bertus, 78, of Guntersville, passed away Tuesday, July 28th.

Mr. Bertus was the owner and operator of J&B Paint and Cleaning Company. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He held the record for the largest Big Mouth Bass in Guntersville Lake for 30 years.

He is survived by his wife, Janie H. Bertus; children, Mike Bertus (Cami), Donna Bertus Walling, Marja Moore (Tony), and Anthony Howard; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; and siblings, Rosco Bertus Jr. and Keith Bertus. Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Rosco Sr. and Derial Bertus; son, Timothy Wayne Bertus; daughter, Cindi Gaught; and sister, Brenda Kay McAnally.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 30th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Berryhill Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 31st at 1 p.m. at Berryhill Funeral Home with Reverend Max McCutcheon officiating. Burial will take place at Huntsville Memory Gardens.
