A Celebration of Life for Mr.
, 78, of Decatur, will be noon Monday, October 19, 2015, at St. Stephens Primitive Baptist Church with Rev. George Franklin officiating and inhumation to follow in Calvary Memorial Gardens. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral. Public viewing will be today from 2 to 6 p.m. at Reynolds Funeral Home.
Charles was born on June 26, 1937, in Decatur to the late Louis Moore and Colleen Shaw. He departed this life on October 15, 2015, at Huntsville Hospital.
Mr. Shaw was a member of St. Stephens P.B. Church. He retired from Compass Bank after 38 years as a mail courier.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Janetta Balentine; and brother, William Holden Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted and caring wife, Emma Torain Shaw, of Decatur; seven children, Charles Jr. (Arlene) and Gregory (Carolyn) Shaw, both of Kansas City, MO, Carolyn Shaw, of Decatur, Shelia Henderson, of Harvest, Sheron Smartt (Jeffrey), of Madison, Melinda Johnson (Gary), of Decatur and Brenda Hill (Warren), of Hillsboro; two sisters, Elizabeth Harris (Howard) and Hartenisa L. Chatman; 21 grandchildren and a host of great- grandchildren, in-laws, other relatives and friends.
Flower bearers and pallbearers will be grandchildren.
