Charles “Humpy” Housman age 77 of Florence passed away Monday December 17, 2012. Visitation will be Thursday December 20, 2012 from 12:30pm till 2pm at Elkins Funeral Home of Florence with services at 2pm in the chapel with Bobby Amos officiating. Burial will be at Florence City Cemetery with pallbears being family.
Charles is survived by his wife of 55 years, Carmen Housman. . Two daughters; Karen Stanley and husband Eddie, and Karrie Coburn and husband David. One son; Kevin Housman and wife Leslie Grandchildren; Chase Stanley, Tyler Stanley, Amanda Williams, Donald Williams and Davis, Henry, Sam Housman. Sister; Donnie Horton and husband Carvel.
He was preceded by his parents, Ira and Adelle Housman. Brother Robert Housman and Son Keith Housman.
Mr. Housman was a graduated from Central High School, member of Electrical Workers Union 558, attended Woodmont Baptist, Avid traveler, collector, fan of Atlanta Braves and Nascar. Charles was active with the Army during the Korean war and retired from Naval Reserves.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
