Charles Franklin Newell, age 75, died Tuesday, Feb. 23, at his home. Funeral services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. CST at Corner Stone Funeral Chapel, Ider, Alabama, with Brother Greg Beasley officiating. Burial will follow in New Home Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until service time.
Survivors include daughters, Marquetta Newell and Julia Newell; sons, Edward Newell(Deborah) and Greg Newell (Reba); granchildren, Kelly Newell (Rick), Beth Joyner(Richard), Geneva Newell, Josh Newell (Mary), Breanna Newell, Jessica Newell, Ashleigh Miller, Brandon Dawes, and Skyler Dawes; and great-grandchildren, Lukas Itter and Emmaleigh Joyner.
Mr. Newell was a 1959 graduate of Ider High School and was preceded in death by his parents, Troy and Thelma Wilson Newell; wife, Brenda Bray Newell; and brother, James Brinton Newell.
