Charles Francis Jacks, age 88 of Huntland, passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Madison County, Alabama on August 21, 1933, to the late Norval and Mary Emmaline (Towry) Jacks. Charles served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Before his retirement, he was employed by Chrysler Corp. as a field engineer for thirty-three years. An avid sportsman, he played on the first Huntland football team in 1949. He enjoyed playing golf and fishing, as well as cheering on the Tennessee Volunteers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Marion Jacks, Marvin Jacks, Towry Jacks, and Arthur Jacks. Charles is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Nina Jacks; children, Greg (Denise) Jacks, and Lana (Ron) Parker; grandchildren, Riley (Eli) Awalt, Charlie (Emily) Jacks, and Paul (Julie) Hill; great-grandchildren, Gavin and Easton Hill, Maggie Jo and Jasper Awalt, and Addie and Audrey Jacks; sister, Ruth Todd; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 12-2 pm on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at Winchester Cumberland Presbyterian Church with a memorial service following at 2:00 pm. Interment will be at Franklin Memorial Gardens with military honors bestowed. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Avalon Hospice, 2090 Cowan Highway, Winchester, TN 37398.
