Charles Edward Johnson was born on January 10, 1946, in Hardin County, to the late James Orbie and Mae Frances Sparks Johnson.
In April, 1969 he was united in marriage to Mary Katherine Wynn, who preceded him in death on April 30, 2013.
Mr. Johnson, at one time, lived in Linden, Tennessee and was a member of the Robert’s Chapel A.M.E. Church. He worked for the Dana Corporation and for the Brown Shoe Company. After returning to Hardin County, he worked as a cook for the Hardin Medical Center. He was a real people pleaser, who enjoyed helping others, working at the hospital and everyone loved him. He loved his family.
Mr. Johnson departed this life on September 30, 2013, at the Hardin Medical Health and Rehabilitation Center in Savannah, Tennessee, at the age of 67 years, 8 months and 20 days.
He is survived by two children, Gary Wayne Johnson of Savannah, Tennessee and Monica Lynn Johnson of Jackson, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Jada Lynn Powers, Jamia Johnson and Johntae Johnson; three siblings, Jimmy Johnson and Mildred Johnson, both of Nashville, Tennessee and Steve Johnson of Linden, Tennessee.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jeannie Lee Sanders.
