Charles Edward Black, 73, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at North Alabama Medical Center.
He is survived by his daughter, Leann Black; sister, Kathy Akridge (Larry); brother, Steve Black (Denise); and nephews, Samuel Akridge and Stephen Akridge (Celisa).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Joyce Black; and his former wife and lifelong friend, Shelia Putman Black.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
No funeral services are planned.
