Charles E Livingston Jr, 79, of Milton, Florida, went to be with the Lord on December 19, 2014.
He was born in Decatur, Alabama, March 9, 1935, and resided in Milton, Florida for the past 55 years. He started his career in Decatur in the Research and Development Department when Chemstand opened their plant in Decatur and later transferred to Pensacola. He retired with 43 years of service as a supervisor at Chemstand/Monsanto.
He played three seasons of Varsity basketball at Priceville High School 1950-53 starting all three seasons, as a junior he helped Priceville win their first state championship. Priceville returned to the state champion playoff his senior year (1953) and lost in the final game. He earned the State Tournament Most Valuable Player Honors and All-State Tournament and All-district and All-County. He also played Varsity Softball 1950-53. He had opportunities to play college basketball. In 2002 he was inducted into the Morgan County Sports Hall of Fame.
A devoted Christian, Charles was a charter member of Pine Terrace Baptist Church.
His parents Charles Ernest and Stella Hancock Livingston; and siblings, Peggy L. Blackwood, Betty L Hall, Ronnie, Nancy and Donald Livingston, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Faye Long Livingston; two children, Sheila Rose and Scott Livingston; five granddaughters; siblings, Jack Livingston (Kelly), Boone NC, Tommy Livingston (Delores), Kenneth Livingston (Jean), Priceville, Fay Livingston Bennett, Hartselle and Sue Livingston Jones, Chattanooga, TN.
Funeral services were conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday at Pine Terrace Baptist Church with burial in Serenity Gardens Cemetery Milton, Florida.
