Charles E. Johnson, age 73, of Cloverdale, passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2012, at E.C.M. Hospital after an extended illness. Thanks to the Fishers of Men Class at Stoney Point Church of Christ, he recently obeyed the gospel of Christ. He retired from trucking, farming and dozer work and enjoyed watching car racing. Visitation will be Friday, October 5, 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Spry~Williams Funeral Home, Florence. The funeral service will be Saturday, October 6, 1:00 P.M. in the funeral home chapel with Sonny Bogus and Darrell O’Rourke officiating. Interment will be at Pisgah Methodist Church Cemetery in Cloverdale. Pallbearers will be Raymond Scott, Jacob Malone, Jeremy Malone, Joe Cooper, Charlie South and Gary Gilland. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe & Mamie Johnson; brothers, Ronald & Bobby Johnson; sister, Janice Murphy. Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Johnson; son, Roger Johnson (Lucille); daughters, Janet Malone (Mark) and Shelia Cook (Steve); grandchildren, Kayla Johnson, Jacob and Jeremy Malone and Savannah Hill; brother, Randy Johnson; sisters, Margaret Ann Schultz and Mildred Johnson.
