Memorial service for Charles David Hammon, 58, will be Sunday, Oct. 29, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Lebanon Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Hammon passed away Thursday, Oct. 5, 2017. He was born Sept. 9, 1959 in Morgan County to James Hammon and Louise Hammon. He graduated from Falkville High School’s Class of 1977 and then with University of North Alabama’s Class of 1982 where he earned a bachelor’s degree in history and business.
In 1985, he began a career in the Commercial Chemical Industry which would take him all over the southeast and in 1993, he settled with his family in Dallas, Texas. David dedicated 24 years of work to Airgas Specialty Products. He was an avid historian who enjoyed nature and the outdoors, cheering on the Auburn Tigers football team, relaxing on the beach, and above all else, spending quality time with his family. A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, David always considered his family to be the center of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Louise Hammon and his brothers, Myles and Wayne Hammon.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah “Debbie” Wells Hammon; two daughters, Audrey Edwards and Lindy Hammon; two sisters, Linda Johnson (Ray) and Sandra Olson (Johnny); one granddaughter, Nyla Edwards; sister-in-law, Tanya Hammon; father and mother-in-law, Joe and Jane Wells; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Donna Pizarro; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, one great-great-nephew and countless cherished friends and extended family.
