Charles "Charlie" D. Brown Charles D. ‘Charlie’ Brown, aged 84, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at his home in Lafayette Springs. Born on April 7, 1931, in Jasper, FL, to Israel S. and Gertrude ‘Trudie’ Johnson Brown, Charlie lived a life full of love and dedication. He married Vera C. Brown on July 3, 1950, and they shared 74 wonderful years together until her passing on December 7, 2024.

Charlie was a man of many talents and interests. He enjoyed working on his property, cutting firewood, and feeding his catfish, dogs, hummingbirds, and any wild critter that happened along. He had a passion for buying vintage cars, fixing equipment, cars, and broken things, as well as carpentry and woodworking.

He is survived by his son, Charlie ‘Bo’ Brown and his wife Donna, his daughter-in-law Barbara Brown, and his grandchildren Jessica Brown, Benja Brown, Leigh Merritt, Danny McNeely, and Crystal Ambrozy, along with their spouses. He also leaves behind numerous great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Vera, his grandson Benjamin Brown, his granddaughter Carly ‘Charlie Brown’ Tate Warren, and his son Terrance ‘Terry’ Brown.

His older brother, Howard Brown, passed away just one day after him, the two brothers departing this life only a day apart.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 1PM at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc, with Bro. Dean Moody officiating. Visitation will begin at 11AM and continue until the service time. Interment will follow in Lafayette Springs Cemetery.
