Charles Conrad Duke, age 91 of Athens, passed away on Friday, January 18, 2019 at Huntsville Hospital. Mr. Duke was born November 22, 1927 in Cullman, AL to Conrad James Duke and Vera Esther Foust.
Services for Mr. Duke are Monday, January 21, 2019 at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. with Dusty McLemore and Tim Anderson officiating. Visitation will be Monday, January 21, 2019 from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Family Burial will be in Burning Tree Cemetery in Decatur, AL.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Duke; son, Michael Duke (Susan); daughters, Pat Peevy (Bill), Diane Dockery (Thomas) and Jackie McFarland; 9 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by 2 sisters.
Charles was a member of Lindsay Lane Baptist Church. He served as a deacon at Central Baptist Church in Decatur, AL for 30 years. He was a Navy veteran and business owner. He helped with LCCI and Meals on Wheels for 10 years. Charles loved to volunteer for several church mission trips.
Pallbearers are Clay Duke, Jacob McFarland, Casey Jones, Blake Jackson, Shawn Morin and Nathan Mitchell. Honorary Pallbearers are Isaac Mitchell, Bradley Jackson and Scotty Jackson.
