Charles Clayborne Jones – Obituary

Charles Clayborne Jones, 76, passed away Saturday evening, Aug. 25, 2012. Born Jan. 19, 1936, in Tuscumbia, he was the son of the late George W. and Ada Schmidt Jones. He was a graduate of Deshler High School and had retired from Reynolds Aluminum Co.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, George W. Jones Jr.

He is survived by his sister, Mary Magdalene (Maggie) Jones Marchant, of Tallahassee Fla.; sister-in-law, Martha B. Jones, of Chattanooga, Tenn.;

Nieces, Carol Marchant, of Tallahassee Fla., and Janet Skates, of Kingsport Tenn.;

nephews, Ray Marchant, of Palm Springs, Ca., Richard Jones, of Chattanooga, Tenn., Stephen Jones, of Powell, Tenn., and Donald Jones, of Cary, N.C.; and eight great nieces and nephews.

He is also survived by his extended family of neighbors, friends, staff, management and the owner of the Williamsburg Apartments in Muscle Shoals who loved and cared for him so deeply. He is also survived by his devoted canine companion, Fred.

Service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012, at Colbert Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service and internment will follow immediately after the service at Tuscumbia Oakwood Cemetery.
