Charles “Chuck” Rickey Mencer – Obituary

Mr. Charles “Chuck” Rickey Mencer, age 63, a resident of Lillian Circle in Columbia, passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 2PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Points officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Army. A visitation will be held on Friday from 4-8PM and again on Saturday from 1-2PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on August 17, 1954 in Maury County, Rickey was the son of the late Charles “Charlie” Mencer and the late Ruth Counts Mencer. He was a graduate of Camp Lejeune High School in North Carolina and served his country for the United States Army. Rickey was an entrepreneur who worked many years at Chevy White Auto Sales. He was a jack of all trades, but a master of none. Rickey enjoyed farming, playing cards, and gambling, but he especially loved his daughters: Brandi and Nicole.

He is survived by his daughters: Nicole Mencer (Ryan) Barton of Oregon, Brandi Jo (Landon) Gross of Oregon; brothers: Carl Mencer of Jacksonville, NC, Wendell Mencer of Las Vegas, NV; sisters: Donna Kay Parsons of Culleoka, Missy Moore of Columbia; and grandchildren: Lexi Alapai, Austin Barton, Cade Saucedo, Alan Walls, and Parker Barton.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a lifelong friend: Jimmy White.

Pallbearers will be: Donnie Joe Cothran, Ronnie Mencer, Roy Hickman, Ronnie Wayne Davis, Ricky Dewberry, and Jonathan Counts.

All of Rickey’s many friends will serve as honorary pallbearers.
