Charles ‘Chuck’ Joseph Kiss – Obituary

Charles ‘Chuck’ Joseph Kiss, 76, passed away Friday, April 20th, after a long illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Piroska Koo Kiss, both from Hungary, and an infant sister, Piroska.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Alma; son, Charles, Jr., of Grayson, Georgia; and stepdaughter, Beverly Dezenberg and husband, Gary, of Huntsville.

Chuck grew up in the Jackson Heights neighborhood in the borough of Queens in New York City, and graduated from Stuyvesant High School and The Polytechnic Institute of New York, with a BSEE. He earned an MSEE from The University of Alabama in Huntsville and worked for the US Army for most of his career, retiring as Acting Branch Chief of the radar section.

Chuck coached youth soccer for several years and, after retiring, taught computer courses at the Huntsville-Madison County Senior Center. He had a life-long interest in bowling, cars and animals.

Visitation will be from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, April 22nd, at Laughlin Service Funeral Home.  No funeral services are planned.
