Charles “Chuck” Ernest Boudreau, passed away the afternoon of February 15, 2019, at Brookdale Independent Living, his residence since August, 2018. He was at peace and in the company of trusted loved ones after battling a prolonged illness of cancer.
He was born in Wisconsin to Ernest Joseph and Ethel Sadler Boudreau on March 11, 1933. He grew up in Lakewood Ohio, where he attended Cleveland Public Schools. Upon graduating high school, Chuck was accepted and graduated from Miami of Ohio University where he obtained a Mechanical Engineering degree.
Mr. Boudreau was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife of 59 years, Margaret White Boudreau (May, 2018).
He is survived by his son, Charles Rheney Boudreau of Huntsville; sister, Mary Jo McQuiston; nieces, Mary Beth McQuiston, and Lisa Ann Johnson; three great nieces, all of Sandstone, MN; and a host of extended family members, in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Mr. Boudreau led a multifaceted life. He was a voracious reader from childhood until his final days, at times reading two or three books a day. He enjoyed traveling the world with his wife, Margaret, and friends. He was a lifelong athlete, enjoying boating, fishing, hunting and golfing. Upon graduating from college, he served a tour of duty with the Army and afterwards, began a lifelong career with Bendix Corp., Teterboro, NJ, and its successor, Allied Signal Aerospace. He spent his entire career as that company’s representative with NASA in Huntsville. Associates will remember him as intelligent, knowledgeable, responsible, friendly, and completely trustworthy.
The family would like to express our gratitude and thanks to his skilled team of doctors, especially Dr. Ali Hachem and Dr. Robert Calcote for their unending care throughout the years of his declining health.
We also wish to extend our sincere thanks to the staff of Brookdale, Southern Hospice Care, and to the multitudes of friends for their many years of love and support for Chuck and Margaret.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, February 24 at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The family will plan a private celebration of life at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
