Charles "Charlie" Lawrence Easterwood Charles “Charlie” Lawrence Easterwood passed away August 24, 2024 at Marshall Medical Center North. Charlie was 76 years old, born October 17, 1947. His parents were Claude and Margaret James Easterwood. He was born in Cullman County and has been a resident of the Ruth community for over 18 years. Charlie was a US Army Vietnam Veteran who had earned two Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart. He worked in the construction field.
Charlie was a loving individual. He loved his family foremost, especially the grand and great grandchildren. He loved rabbit and coon hunting. He loved the Atlanta Braves and the Tennessee Vols. He loved telling people what to do. The one thing he did not love was Donald Trump. Charlie will be missed by all who knew him.
Family members left behind to cherish their memories of Charlie include his son, Rex Easterwood; daughter, Latasha Easterwood; granddaughters, Gracie, Kayce, Shelby, Brooke, Hannah (Michael), Maddie, and Jayclee; special grandson, Ethan; three great grandchildren; sisters, Ivy Patterson (Ronnie) and Cecelia McBrayer (Donnie); brothers, Tom Easterwood (Rae) and Jim Easterwood (Carol); brother in law, Edwin White; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephew.
Family members preceding Charlie in death include his loving wife, Martha King Easterwood; father, Claude Allen Easterwood; mother, Margaret Helen James Easterwood; brother, Mark Easterwood, sister, Priscilla Sue White; and niece, Amy Hatley.
On Tuesday evening, August 27, 2024 from 6:00 until 8:00pm at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, the family will receive friends and guest at a visitation service honoring Charlie and to share precious memories. The Military honors funeral service will be on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at the Arab Chapel beginning at 11:00 a.m. Brother Ronald Earwood will be officiating. Pallbearers escorting Charlie to his final resting place in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Cullman County will be Michael Hallmark, Jay Henry, Steven Harrell, James Willis, Ronnie White and Josh Willis. Serving as Honorary Pallbearer will be Eli Beasley.
