Charles “Bobby” Hamilton Lindsay III, 79, of Athens passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at Crestwood Hospital. Mr. Lindsay was born March 4, 1936 in Limestone County to Charles Hamilton Lindsay II and Margaret Hammons Lindsay.
Services will be Friday, October 2, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Thomas L. Hammons officiating. Visitation will be today, October 1, 2015 from 4:30 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Athens City Cemetery.
Preceded in death by his parents, Charles H. “Bob” Lindsay and Margaret Hammons Lindsay.
Survived by his wife, Barbara Lindsay; two daughters, Renee Lindsay and Regina L. Hamilton and husband, Randy, both of Athens; two grandsons, Blake Hamilton and Cole Hamilton, both of Athens; one sister, Betty L. Taylor and husband, Huston of Athens; and one brother, Larry Lindsay and wife, Carolyn of Athens.
Pallbearers will be Lee Lindsay, Lane Lindsay, Dr. John Hammons, Jesse Downs, Zac White and Mack McCormack. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Cannon, Dr. William A. Davis, Gary Downs, Jerry Hammons, Grover Sanders, Jimmy Wayne Lindsay, Artie McGlocklin, Morris Lindsay, Mike Lindsay and Jack Bowers.
