Charles Bentley Elliott, 68, Russellville, Alabama passed away Saturday, June 20, 2015.

He lived most all of his life in Franklin County and was a member of Tharptown Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends Sunday, June 21, 2015 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville. Funeral service will be Monday, 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Gatus Cheatham and Neil Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Tharptown Cemetery.

Survivors include wife, Brenda Masterson Elliott, Russellville; son, Matt Cooper and wife, Greta, Russellville; grandchildren, Madeline, Bryson and Jackson Cooper; sisters, Sue Hodges, Missouri, Pat Camp and husband, Tom, Dawsonville, Georgia, Carolyn Murdock and husband, Bill, Carrolton, Georgia, brother, Mickey Elliott and wife, Sally, Tupelo, Mississippi; brother-in-law, Edmond Potter, Scottsboro, Alabama; several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Andrews, Jamie Kiel, Pete Smith, Lynn Lane, Jody Kiel, Terry Stockton.

The honorary bearers will be Charlie Ford and the members of his Sunday School Class at Tharptown Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by parents, Charles Bentley Elliott and Stella Goff Elliott Gilbert; sister Shirley Jo Potter.

Even though he was a man of few words, Charlie was loved by everyone he came in contact with. In his later years he spent most of his time being a fulltime “Pop” to his grandchildren, Madeline, Bryson and Jackson.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Tharptown Baptist Church Building Fund.
