Mr. Charles B. Rhodes, 73, of Florence, passed away on January 15, 2016 at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital. He was a 1961 graduate of Central High School and a co-owner of Montgomery & Rhodes Motors since 1971. He attended Central Heights United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be on Sunday, January 17, 2016 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will be on Monday, January 18, 2016 in Greenview Memorial Chapel beginning at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. John Yeates and the Rev. Donnie McDaniel officiating. Burial will follow in Pettus Cemetery in Lexington, Alabama.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Brice and Ruby Rhodes and his brother-in-law, Ted Hammond.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane Joiner Rhodes; sons, Greg A. Rhodes (Suzanne); grandchildren, Charley and Hailey Rhodes; sister-in-law, Sara Hammond; cousin/brother, Don Montgomery; niece, Molly Hammond Matlock; great-niece, Caroline Matlock; great-nephew, Spencer Matlock and his aunt Christine Grigsby.
Serving as pallbearers will be Charles Landrum Jr., Trey Matlock, David Grigsby, Joe Rhodes, Roland Dawson and Jimmy Bourland.
Serving as honorary pallbearers are Bobby McCormick, Ralph Thompson, Robert Bevis, Kenneth Richards, Larry Young, Dwane Rhodes, Harry Austin and EB High.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Felix Morris and Ferrin Bayles, C.R.N.P., Jeanette Eaton, Jean Hutton and to the staff on the 5th floor at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central Heights United Methodist Church or to a charity of your choice.
