Charles Allen Owens, age 87 of Winchester, passed away on Friday, June 17, 2022. A native of Franklin County, he was born in Cowan on March 29, 1935, to the late Alanson Charlie and Lou Ella Owens. Charles was a 1954 graduate of Franklin County High School, where he was class president of his senior class. He served his country in the United States Army, 82nd Airborne before earning his bachelor’s degree in Engineering and Mathematics from Tennessee Tech University. Until his retirement, he had been employed in the computer technology industry. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing basketball, baseball, football, and golf. Charles enjoyed spending time with his beloved family. His family will remember him as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was a dedicated member of Greenhaw Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Owens; siblings, Clyde Owens, Clifford Owens, Claude Owens, Mancel Owens, and Lorraine Clark. Charles is survived by his loving children, Kim Owens (Tim) Woodward of Nashville, Jeff (Sherri) Owens of Decherd, and Felicia Owens (Troy) Martin of Winchester; grandchildren, Paige, Benjy, Grace, Luke, Maggie, Nikki, and Jeb; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 11am-1pm on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 1:00 pm in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Bro. Kevin Murphy officiating.
