Charleen Crabtree Miles Middleton, 86, of Florence, passed away July 24, 2013. She was a lifelong member of Wood Avenue Church of Christ (Poplar Street). Charleen’s grandfather was C.E. Holt, Minister of Poplar Street Church of Christ from 1904-1911. She was retired from TVA and Assistant Secretary at Wood Avenue Church of Christ.
Visitation will be Friday, July 26, 2013, from 6-8 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Saturday, July 27, 2013, at 2 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.
Mrs. Middleton was preceded in death by her husband, Granville L. Miles; parents, Sam and Florence Crabtree; brothers, Otis Payne and Ted Crabtree; father and mother-in-law, Eli and Mamie Parish Miles; sisters-in-law, Eva Mae Payne, Irene Miles Davis (Glynn), Erline Miles Keenum (J.W.); and infant son, Miles.
She is survived by her husband, James G. Middleton, M.D., Florence; son, Sam Miles, Flowery Branch, Ga.; daughter, Vicki Miles Penchosky (John), Roswell, Ga.; grandchild, Flannery Miles Hooks (Christoph), Birmingham, Ala.; nieces, Glenda Davis Foster (James), Guntersville, Ala., Diane Payne King (Richard), Wimberly, Texas, Charleen Crabtree Temples, and Michelle Lynn Crabtree; and sister-in-law, Lorraine Crabtree, all of Trussville, Ala.
Active pallbearers will be Eddie Lewis, Terry Lewis, Richard King, Robert Miles, Christoph Hooks and Arvel Miles.
Honorary pallbearers will be Blake Temples and the men of Wood Avenue Church of Christ.
