Cephus “Junior” Noble, Jr., 78, died Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at North Ms. Medical Center, Tupelo, MS. He was born in Kentucky to Cephus and Ida Turner Noble, Sr. He was retired as a D.C. police officer after twenty years and was a member of Fraternal Order of Police.  He served in the U.S Marines for four years. He is now reunited with his wife of fifty-two years, Mary Ann, who was the love of his life.

 

Graveside services will be Sunday, July 26, 2 p.m. at Baggett Cemetery, Vina, AL with Bro. Jerry Edgil officiating. Burial will be in Baggett Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.

 

He is survived by two sons – Cephus Noble III (Cheryl) and Joseph Noble; six grandchildren – Ashley Marie Noble, Joseph Scott Noble, Jr., Michele Anne Noble, Cephus Noble IV (Rebecca), Michael Ryan Noble and Chaney Semola; one sister – Jacqueline Noble Davidson (Bud) and three great-grandchildren – DaKotah Noble, Jesiah Noble and Cullen Noble.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, Cephus and Ida Turner Noble, Sr., two brothers, Joe Noble and James Noble and a sister, Betty Ann Bailey.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 25, 5-8 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL.

HOWARD JOHNSTON

RED BAY, AL – Howard Johnston, 79, died Sunday, July 19, 2020 at his residence. He was born in Franklin County, AL to Thomas Husie “T.H.” and Lonnie Humphries Johnston. He was a farmer and a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church.

Graveside services will be Tuesday, July 21, 10 a.m. at Burnout Cemetery, Vina, AL with Bro. Billy Myrick and Bro. Greg Thorn officiating. Burial will be in Burnout Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his wife of sixty years – Virginia Johnston, Red Bay, AL; four children– Benny Johnston (Karen), Red Bay, AL, Rita Pounds (Andy) Golden, MS, Kristie Thorn (Greg) and Lynn Quinn (Neal) Red Bay, AL; seven grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; three sisters – Marie LeMay, Russellville, AL, Averine Ledbetter and Sue Davis, both of Red Bay, AL and one brother – Billy Johnston (Jane) Red Bay, AL.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Belton Johnston and Thurman Johnston and two sisters, Lorene Hardin and Edith Ledbetter.

Pallbearers will be Austin Thorn, Nick Thorn, Luke Pounds, Blake Northington, Colby Cook, Danny Johnston, Chad Quinn and Hugh Johnston. Honorary pallbearers will be Lee Morphis and Dylan Cornelius.
