Celina Edlin – Obituary

Celina Edlin, age 92, a resident of Columbia, passed away Thursday evening, March 23, 2017 at Maury Regional Medical Center

 

A funeral service will be held on Sunday at 4:15PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Steve Atherton officiating. A visitation will also be held on Sunday from 12-4PM with the Eastern Star funeral service beginning at 4PM at Heritage Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Monday at 4:15PM (EST) at Edlin Cemetery in New Haven, Kentucky with a visitation from 12-4PM (EST) at Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven, Kentucky. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

 

Born on July 13, 1924 in Lawrence, Massachusetts, Celina was the daughter of the late John Brian and the late Angelina Reece Brian. She was a member of Central Christian Church for forty years and was most recently attending Cross Timbers Christian Church. She was an Eastern Star member for sixty years and served as the “Mayor” of Stoneybrook Estates in Columbia. She loved animals, especially dogs, and she enjoyed going to church. Celina had a wonderful personality, could light up any room, and was a great story teller. She was an excellent cook and loved her family unconditionally.

 

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, James “Jim”  Edlin of Columbia; children: Robert Michael (Fay) Burnett of Shepherdsville, KY, Angelina (Allen) Black of Louisville, KY, Belinda (Charlie) Ballard of White House, TN, Bobby (Demaris) Edlin of Louisville, KY, James Daniel “Danny” (Cheryl) Edlin of Columbia, TN, Jeanne (Rick) Hardwick of White House, TN, David Edlin of Mt. Pleasant, TN; brother: Thomas Brian of Marlboro, MA; grandchildren: William Burnett, Patrick (Shannon) Burnett, Robert Michael (Elizabeth) Burnett, Jr., Damian Michael (Tonia) Cole, Dana Michelle (Dean) Portman, Deana Marie (James) Hardin, Lori (Mike) Alguire, Shannon (Tim) Holley, Josh Edlin, Becky Edlin, Amanda (Joel) Skelley, Kirk (Christie) Hardwick, Amy Jo (Adam) Bowlds, Chanze (Melanie) Edlin, Mason Edlin; twenty-six great grandchildren; and seven great great grandchildren.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings: John, Anna, Kay, Henry, Ruth, and Angelina.

 

Pallbearers will be: Mason Edlin, Jordan Cole, Damian Cole, Josh Edlin, Kirk Hardwick, and Cole Portman.

 

The family requests memorial donations be made to the Maury County Animal Shelter: 1233 Mapleash Avenue, Columbia, TN 38401.

I am so very sorry for the loss of your mother. I understand the pain you are going through very well. I met Mrs Edlin about 30 years ago when David and dated for a bit. She was so very sweet to me.
