ROGERSVILLE-Cheers to Joe Wheeler State Park for serving its guests for half a century. This year marks 50 years of destination vacations and memories.

Continue the trend with a February full of Nature Walks and Hikes:

Winter Wildlife Wanderings (WWW) Guided #Hike24in24AL Series

Join Park Naturalist, Jennings Earnest, for a guided WWW along the Tennessee River and through the Forested wonderlands of Joe Wheeler State Park. Attend one program or all of them!
Program Dates:
February 3, 2024 (Underneath the Forest: Creepy Crawly Insects);
February 10th, 2024 (Animal Homes: Burrows & Nests);
February 24, 2024 (Awakenings: Signs of Spring)
Time: 10:00 am – Noon
Location: Meet in Lodge Lobby
Fee: $5 per person; Free for overnight park guests

Eye Spy: Wildlife Watching with Park Naturalist

Learn the “what, where, why, and how” of wildlife watching with Park Naturalist, Jennings Earnest. Take an easy to moderate stroll along beautiful trails to “see” the stories of wild creatures through signs, songs, sounds, and presence.

Dates: February 2,2024; February 8, 2024; February 29, 2024
Time: 7:00am-8:30am
Location: Meet in the Day Use Area
Fee: $5 per person; Free for overnight guests

Watch the sky turn to flame as the sun melts into the Tennessee River during this guided sunset hike with Park Naturalist, Jennings Earnest. Phenomenal photography moments guaranteed! Please bring a flashlight for the return trip.
