Cecil Franklin Cox – Obituary

Cecil Franklin Cox, 81, passed away at ECM Hospital in Florence, AL, on July 23, 2015. Funeral service will be on Saturday, July 25 at 4:00 p.m., at Limestone Chapel in Athens, with Frank Richey, David Cox, and Randy Cox officiating. Visitation will be Friday, July 24, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Tri Cities Memorial Gardens in Florence, AL.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, and honorary pallbearers will be the elders and deacons of Anderson Church of Christ. Burial will be at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens, Florence, AL.
Mr. Cox was a life-long minister of the gospel of Christ, a printer, bookbinder, and currently a member of Anderson Church of Christ. He was loved by many in the communities where he preached, predominantly in the north Alabama region for over 60 years. He attended Mars Hill Bible School, Harding College, and Freed-Hardeman College.

Mr. Cox was preceded in death by his parents, Willard C. and Mary Cox; brother, Charles Cox, and step-sister Frances Simpson.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jacqueline Morris Cox, and his children, Anita Cox Willis, Indianapolis, IN; Randell Cox (Mary), Goodlettsville, TN; David Cox (Kerry), Athens, AL; Michael Cox (Stephanie), Athens, AL; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Willard Cox (Yvonne), Big Cabin, OK; Sister-in-law, Sarah Bess Cox, Amarillo, TX; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Dr. Ricky Irons for his kindness and dedicated care of Cecil for many years.
