Cecil Eugene Sanders, 60, departed this life from NMMC-Tupelo on Saturday, Sept 26, 2026 after a period of declining health. He was born on November 28, 1965, in the Irvin, Tx. area to the late Cecil Sanders and Dorothy Nell Ashton Scott. He moved to Mississippi from Dallas, TX in 2002 making his home in Rienzi. Cecil early working experience was in the custom marble installation business but he spent most of his working life with the U.S. Postal Service retiring a few years ago. He married Cynthia Burridge in 1995; she died on March 3, 2026. Cecil loved old cars, hot rods and motorcycles. He was a past president of Pistoleros Motorcycle Club of the Golden Triangle area. He enjoyed golfing and the Weather Channel. He was a quiet, simply man whose heart was large and generous. He will be missed!
Per his request, there will be no formal memorial service. The family will observe a special time of remembrance when his cremains are scattered in his native Irvin, Tx area. Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo is pleased to be serving their friends. (662 840 5000).
Cecil is survived by his son, Cyle Martin (Sarah) of Rienzi, Ms.; his other children, James (Lisa) Lutrell, Eric (Nature) Lutrell and Paul (Kim) Lutrell; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; his nieces and nephew; Mindy Bates (Terry) of Fulton, Heather Mitchell (Christopher) of Florida and Kenny Cordell (Marsha) of Tupelo.
