Funeral services for Mr. Cecil Braxton Patterson, age 90 of Ashland, was held on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland with Rev. Wayne Adams officiating. Burial followed at the Clay County Memory Gardens.
Mr. Patterson passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2020 at Clay County Hospital. A lifelong resident of Clay County, he was a Korean War Veteran in the United States Army. He worked for several years with Bemiston, Plantation Patterns and over 20 years with Ace Products. After his retirement, he enjoyed farming and was a member of Olive Branch Baptist Church but had been attending Bellview Baptist Church for the last few years.
He is survived by his wife, Christine M. Patterson of Ashland, two sons: Phillip Patterson (Becky) of Texas and Randy Patterson of Ashland, six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two brothers: Kenneth Patterson (Shirley) and Karen Patterson (Melinda), both of Bluff Springs and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elster George Patterson and Eunice Charlene McCain, his granddaughter, Amy Patterson, six sisters and two brothers.
Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland is in charge of arrangements.
