Cecil Barnett, age 97, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at NHC Healthcare of Scott in Lawrenceburg, TN. He was a native of Lauderdale County, AL, a farmer, and a member of New Prospect Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Nancy Etta Smith Barnett; his wife, Lucille Belew Barnett; four brothers and four sisters.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, July 18, 2013 at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at New Prospect Baptist Church at 11:00 AM Friday, July 19, 2013, with James Shutt and Brad Lowery officiating. Mr. Barnett will lie in state at the church from 10:00 AM until time of service. Interment will follow at Shaw Cemetery in Lawrence County, TN.
