A Celebration of Life for Mrs. Cauline Yates McCain, age 92 of Daviston, will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville at 3:00 P.M. with George Worthington officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. until service time at 3:00 P.M.
Mrs. McCain passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2022 at her home. She was born and raised a Clay County Native and lived her life primarily as a Homemaker and Housewife. She was an Creative, Talented, and Headstrong woman who enjoyed crocheting, Knitting, Drawing, and Painting. She would identify many kinds of flowers and had a green thumb when it comes to gardening. Mrs. McCain’s children say that she was an excellent shot, and was confirmed to being able to shoot the head off of rattlesnake. She loved to dance and sing karaoke, and was a loving and king Maw Maw to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness.
Mrs. McCain is survived by two daughters: Sheila McCain Davis (Joe) of Franklin, GA and Ilanan “Nan” McCain Morris of the Mountain Community; two sons: Timothy Yates McCain (Lori) of Mellow Valley and Winford Adam McCain (Tami) of Lincoln; two step-sons: Wayne McCain (Pat) of Roanoke and Owens McCain (Elna) of Petal, MS; 12 grandchildren: Duane Barrand, Danny Barrand (Jeanna), Jay Morris (Amy), Terane May (Billy), Robert McCain, Chris McVey, Brandy Smith (Dustin), Felina McVey, Candy Smith, Clay Morris, Dallas McCain, and Dakota Wooten; 16 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren; two sisters: Geraldine Yates Shaddix (Sonny) of Ashland and Judy Yates Owsley of Dadeville; one brother, Rusty Yates (Jan) of Prattville, plus a large extended family.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Arthur Hubert Yates and Ruth Stephens Jett Yates; her husband, John Winford McCain; two daughters: Talina Eve McCain and Linda Gail “Doodle” Mullins; one great-grandson, Taylor Barrand; and three brothers: O.B. Yates, Harold Yates, and Lloyd Yates.
