DECATUR-Decatur police answered an alarm call in the early morning hours of Saturday, July 26th. Here is how they describe events leading up to the arrest of William Glenn:

On July 26th 2014, at approximately 1:45 AM, the Decatur Police Department received an alarm call at 817 Johnston St SE. Officer Timothy Hutchings, who was in the area, was able to arrive quickly and check the residence. As he was checking the residence, Officer Hutchings located a man, later identified as William Oneal Glenn, standing in the garage holding property owned by the victim. Glenn was detained at that point pending further investigation.
The investigation revealed that Glenn was unknown to the victim and had no right to be in or upon the premises. He was placed under arrest for burglary and a search revealed that Glenn was also in possession of a hammer, a screwdriver, lock shim, a flashlight and gloves so he was additionally charged with Possession of Burglar’s Tools.
Glenn was transported to the Decatur City Jail and processed in on the charges where his bond has not been set. At the time of his arrest, Glenn was out on bond for two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance and investigators are working to have his bond revoked on those charges.
Further charges against Glenn are expected.
