Cathy Ann Ponton (Cantrell), 71, passed away peacefully in her home in Hendersonville, TN, on Saturday, September 23, 2023. She was born and raised in Lawerence County, AL. A member of the Lawrence County High School class of 1970, Cathy was beloved in her community and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Cathy is survived by her daughter, Paige Cantrell (Becci); her granddaughters, Lexi and Brinley Cantrell of Hendersonville, TN; her brother, Andy Cantrell (Sarah) of Mt. Hope, AL; and sister, Denise Smith of Decatur, AL; as well as many friends and family who also knew her as “Momma Cat”. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jewel and Virgil Lanier, and her father, Butch Cantrell.
A Celebration of Life in honor of Cathy will be held at the Caddo Senior Citizens Center on Saturday, September 30, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The family invites friends and loved ones to join them in celebrating Cathy’s life through the sharing of stories and memories, and in support of one another in this time of loss.
