Mrs. Catherine Lucille Whitney, age 92, of Arab, passed away at her residence on Friday, March 12, 2021.
Mrs. Whitney was born on March 10, 1929 to the late Howard Baines Wilson & Eva Jane Huston. Mrs. Whitney worked as an Assistant Librarian at the Altamonte Springs Library in Florida. Her hobbies included reading, sewing, traveling and growing flowers. She was a member of the Arab First UMC since 1993. She loved her church and her church family. Most of all, Mrs. Whitney loved her family and spending time with them.
Mrs. Whitney is survived by her daughter, Kathy Handle; grandchildren, Katie Scott, Jennifer Cady (Jestin); great-grandchildren, Ava Scott, Noah Scott, Isaiah Scott, Hannah Cady, Jaynah Cady, Dylan Riggs, Ross Cady.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Whitney is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Glen “Bob” Whitney; sister, Nancy Wheeler.
A Visitation will take place at the Arab First United Methodist Church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday, March 20, 2021.
A Memorial Service will be at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, March 20, 2021 at the Arab First United Methodist Church with Rev. Todd Henderson and Rev. Nicky James officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorial donations to Arab First UMC Building Fund or Shepherd’s Cove Hospice.
