Carthan Douglas Franks, 82, of Decatur, Alabama passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at his residence. Memorial Services will be Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Palestine Missionary Baptist Church located at 2077 Palestine Road, Fayette, Alabama 35555.
Mr. Franks was born in Fayette, Alabama on July 24, 1942 to Charlie and Guther Nalls Franks. He later received his Associates Degree and became the Shipping Manager for the Morton Salt Company.
Mr. Franks was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His kindness and love will endure in the hearts of all who knew him. Although we mourn his passing, we take comfort in knowing that he has been reunited with his loved ones in God’s embrace of eternal peace.
Mr. Franks was preceded in death by parents; and two sisters, Hazel Sanders and Margine Hayes.
Mr. Franks is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Bobbie Thompson Franks; four daughters, Anita Underwood, Kim Franks, Vonda Wallace, and Chiquita Munson; nine grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
