Carroll A. Methvin, Sr., age 97, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Monday, November 04, 2019 at his residence. He was a native of Lawrence County, TN, retired from Murray Ohio, and a member of Leoma Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was also involved in several civic and community organizations. Mr. Methvin served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Hugh and Lula Rushing Methvin; two sisters, Dot Frantz and Faye Tessnow; and three brothers, Kenneth Methvin, Max Methvin and David Methvin.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine Bedingfield Methvin of Lawrenceburg, TN; one daughter, Stephanie Methvin Harmon of Murfreesboro, TN; one son, Carroll Methvin, Jr. (Sheila) of Leoma, TN; one brother, Dr. Ray Methvin (Sondra) of Loretto, TN; five grandchildren, Rachel Dennis (Mike) of Lake Mary, FL, Caroline Cooper (Jay) and Bryce Harmon both of Murfreesboro, TN, Nathan Methvin of Leoma, TN, and Sarah Sanders (Cayman) of Lawrenceburg, TN; and three great-grandchildren, Hallie Dugger and Lucy Dennis both of Lake Mary, FL, and Charlie Cooper of Murfreesoboro, TN.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, November 05, 2019 at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Wednesday, November 06, 2019, with David Simmerman officiating. Interment will follow at Leoma Cemetery in Leoma, Tennessee with full military honors. Family suggests memorials be made to the Leoma Cemetery Fund.
