Funeral service for Carrie Lee Garrison Thompson, 97, of Spring Hill, Tennessee, will be today, February 5, 2015, at 3 p.m. at Ridout’s Brown-Service Funeral Home with the Reverend Ed Alexander officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
Ms. Thompson, who died Monday, February 2, 2015, was born September 16, 1917, in Lawrence County. She was preceded in death by her parents, Romey and Bessie Garrison; her husband, Ray Thompson; four brothers, James Garrison, Dennis Garrison, Marshall Garrison and Arthur Garrison; and two sisters, Gladys Breedlove and Beatrice Garrison.
Survivors include her loving children, Barbara Ford of Muscle Shoals, Vickie Bates and husband, Thomas, of Spring Hill, Tenn., and Sheila Thompson of Birmingham; sisters, Lydia Tyler of Hartselle, Francis Jenkins of St. Joseph, MI, and brother, Bobby Garrison of Waterford, MI. Carrie was the proud grandmother of Michelle Jones, Christopher Ford, Patrick Ford, Michael Ford, Melanie Dodson, Natalie Flerl, Amanda McDowell and Ryan Bates and great-grandmother of Savannah and Justin Bridges, Zachary and Madison Ford, Karis and Harper McDowell and Charlotte Flerl.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Ford, Patrick Ford, Michael Ford, Ryan Bates, Justin Bridges and Thomas Bates.
The family request memorials be made to National Parkinson Research Institute, American Cancer Society or the National Stroke Foundation.
