Carolyn Yvonne Patterson King was born on December 14, 1939 in Itawamba County to the late Keither Patterson and Marie Bethay Patterson. She grew up in the Nettleton/New Chapel area and lived there all her life. Yvonne graduated from Itawamba Agricultural High School in 1958. She married James Harold King who died in 1978 leaving her to raise the family and make ends meet. She was never fearful of work and had a keen business mind.
