Carolyn Williams of Knoxville, TN, passed away on October 26, 2015. She was a member of Hardin Valley Church of Christ. Born on September 24, 1940 in Cullman, she married Ted Williams on Nov. 5, 1960 in Athens. Carolyn supported her husband as he pursued his engineering degree. She gave birth to two sons in Huntsville, Bradley Williams in 1966 and Russell Williams in 1968. At the time Ted worked as a contract engineer for NASA. Ted accepted employment at TVA and the family moved to Knoxville in January of 1970. Carolyn loved the mountains of East Tennessee, particularly the autumn colors and flowers of spring. She lived in west Knoxville for 45 years and made many friends and left a lasting impression with her kindness and sweet disposition.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents, Ara Moore and Jesse Moore; her sisters, Marie Moore, Elizabeth Moore, Elouise Moore Brewer, Alene Moore White Fortenberry and brother, James Moore.
Survivors include husband and two sons, as well as, her sister, Jewel Johns Pierce, and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Thursday, November 5 at Milestones Event Center (next door to Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel) from 3 to 5 pm. Family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. with service to follow Saturday November 7th at Spry Funeral Home, 804 US Hwy 72 West, Athens, Alabama. Private family interment.
