Graveside service for Carolyn Maner Wilbanks age 76 of Somerville will be Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at 11:30am at the Historic Somerville Cemetery with Brother Brian Wilbanks officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 10:00am until 11:00am Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Carolyn was the wife of the late Brother Melvin Mefford Wilbanks. Brother Melvin and Mrs. Carolyn Pastored Churches and she was a wonderful Christian and loved her Church and loved people.
In her career she was a gracious caregiver until she and Brother Melvin moved to Gulf Shores and there, she worked at the Gulf State Park Resort Hotel. She wanted to be closer to her children and grandchildren and came back to Somerville and started working for the Regional Housing Authority until her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Zambia Kay Wilbanks Gregory and a brother-in-law, Joe Briscoe.
She was the loving mother of:

2 Sisters: Barbara Ann Wilbanks (Ronald)
Nena Kay Briscoe
She was Nana to 6 Grandchildren: Jacob (Brianna), Preston, Kristen, Kayson, Andrea, and Jacob
And her 4 precious Great-Grandchildren: Peyton, Asher, Barret, and Dali
Jacob Wilbanks, Preston Wilbanks, Sammy Lawrimore, Thomas Staggs, Jacob Faulk and Jacob Pulaski will serve as pallbearers.
Carolyn was blessed with extra special care in the last days by Abbi Jane Self.
The family is also grateful for the care given by Affinity Hospice of Cullman; Lisa Chunn, Blair Simpson, Ashley Sherrill, Tina Arnold, Christina Weis, Tara Franks, Abigail Goodson, and April Morgan.
They went above and beyond to console the family and provide exceptional care.
