Mrs. Carolyn Leonard was born November 12, 1953 by Cal C. Willingham and Roberta Smith in Pulaski, Tennessee. She was the third oldest out of seven children. She received her education at Giles County High School. Afterwards, she accepted Christ as her savior with Old Mt. Zion MB Church in Pulaski, TN, where she served as a faithful member who loved the lord.
Carolyn received recognition and with deepest appreciation for 20 years of service with South Carolina Mutual Insurance Company.
She enjoyed singing in the church choir, serving on the usher board testifying before God. Carolyn enjoyed helping others and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Carolyn united in holy matrimony in 1994 to Tommie Leonard.
Our beloved one was called home on November 4, 2021. There she will be joining her late parents Cal C. Willingham and Roberta Smith; sister Lind (Jimmie) Whitworth, and brother William Edward Smith. Carolyn leaves behind to cherish her memory: Husband Tommie Leonard; Daughters Erica (Don) Hillius and Gabrielle (Anthony) Franklin; Grandchildren Deryan Ballentine, D’Andre Dye, Chardanaie Dye, and Aden Dye; Sisters Anna (Melvin) Henderson, Stella Beets, Joyce (Danny) Ballentine, Wandann Smith; Niece Keisha (Nate) Gordon; Sister-in-law Elizabeth (Rome) Benson, Alma Jeans (Henry) Leonard, Dorcey (Dean) Leonard; Daughter-in-law, Shontae Freeman; and her best friend Louise Mason: and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and countless friends.
Funeral will be held at Old Mt. Zion MB Church—658 E Washington Street in Pulaski, TN. The visitation is from 11am to 12pm with the funeral being held immediately after on November 13, 2021.
