Carolyn Flippo Pugh, 82, of Guin, passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at her residence, surrounded by her family. She was born on April 9, 1943, in Sylacauga, Alabama, to James Clark and Sara Nell Flippo.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, her family was her world. Whether attending her grandchildren’s activities and special events or hosting the yearly Christmas celebration, Granna’s love was evident in every word and every hug. She modeled kindness and strength, along with a quick wit, reminding everyone to not take life too seriously.

Carolyn was a 1961 graduate of Marion County High School.She was employed by Marion County DHR for over thirty years until her retirement in 1998. Carolyn was a lifelong member of Mt. Olive Free Will Baptist Church where she shared her gift of music for over sixty-five years by playing the piano and organ and leading the choir. She also served as a children’s Sunday school teacher for many years, pouring into the lives of children of all ages. Her dedicated service through her music and teaching, joined with her love of children, are her greatest legacy because of the lives she impacted.

Carolyn is survived by her husband of sixty-five years, Frank Pugh, her children Scott Pugh (Pam), Leigh Ann Killian (Chris), Jim Pugh, and Reese Pugh (Nikki); her grandchildren Aaron Pugh, Mary Claire Pedersen (Brent), Davis Pugh, Anna Laura Noe (Sam), Cody Killian, Graham Pugh, Garrison Pugh, Sarah Grace Pugh, John Reese Pugh (Allie) and Carly Pugh; one great grandchild Miles Pugh; her sister Faye Mays; and her nieces and other family members.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents Clark and Sara Nell Flippo, her grand parents Robert and Sudie Reese and W. S. and Samantha Flippo.

Funeral Services will be held Sunday, September 28, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at Mt. Olive Free Will Baptist Church with burial to follow in the adjoining cemetery with Bro. Mike Beckon and Bro. Ashley Culp officiating. The visitation will be held prior to the service on Sunday from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Mt. Olive Free Will Baptist Church at 6909 State Highway 253, Guin, AL 35563.
